Info for One Act Festival Tomorrow!!
Please plan on being at Orange Grove Middle School (3415 North 16th Steet, Tampa, Fl) by 9:45am.
The goal is for students to be able to watch the performance that starts at 10am. Our lunch is at 11am. If you are a parent that is attending the festival and did not specifically say you were chaperoning for one act, you will need to pay for the day pass when you get there. I have 2 parents chaperoning this event.
Our meetings start at 12pm with their performance starting at 2pm if everything is still on time. After our performance, I would like for the students to watch the final performance of the day which starts at 3pm. That means they may be watching in their costumes as their talk-back ends at 2:50pm.
No parents are allowed on stage or backstage. This is a totally student run performance except for me helping to spike the stage. Also, this is a comedy, If you feel the need to laugh, please do. As you know, they have only had 4 rehearsals so the feedback from the audience would be great.
Once we find out that our one act is going to state, I will be sending out info. If you haven’t already, please go into the JITS tab on the website and register your state-bound child. This is only for IE events. Once we know about One Act, I will automatically sign the students up for that and $5 will be added to your balance. (I believe it is $5, if it changes, I will let you know) Due date for registration is this Sunday Dec. 4th.
That’s all for now. I appreciate all the support you show your students. Many parents don’t understand the theatre life and its apparent that you definitely do.
