In the Musical Theatre class, students have been through the intro class and have shown a willingness to perform for the class and community or have been recommended by a previous theatre teacher. Students in this class will prepare and perform at least 2 musicals each year. There will be 1 week that is required after-school rehearsals until 6:00 for the fall show. The spring show will have 2 weeks after school. The first week ends at 6pm. The 2nd week rehearsals end at 6:30. All performances this year will be on Thursday and Friday and start at 6:30pm. Updates about shows and needed materials will be posted here when the information is available. Be sure to check your Thrillshare (ROOMS) account for this class also!

Auditions for the Spring musical are only open to students in the musical theatre class. Auditions are AFTER-SCHOOL on Dec 15th and 16th until 6pm.

What not to do in costuming:

Stage Makeup
In order to see the students faces clearly from the audience, performers need to wear basic makeup. The stage lights will wash-out the face and make the face 2 dimensional, we need to add dimension with the makeup. Students should have their own makeup (especially for the eyes and mouth) to keep the germies from invading. You can easily find makeup at Dollar Tree or anywhere really. Actual stage makeup is best and will last better during the show but regular is fine. They WILL be sweating on stage so waterproof anything is great. Here is was i recommend:
~Foundation (slightly darker than matching)
~Powder
~Eye liner
~Mascara
~Blush
~Lip color (tinted lip balm is great. No bold colors, just enough to bring out your lips)

What is happening in class right now? (October 23)
Right now we are working on memorization for their upcoming show and running scenes. We also do choreography daily for a warmup with the Daily 8 Count. Student have the passwords and can go to daily8count.com to practice the combinations.
